http://onguardonline.gov/

The FTC's new Web site, OnGuard Online, provides practical tips from the federal government and the technology industry to help you be on guard against Internet fraud, secure your computer, and protect your personal information. The FTC, the nation's consumer protection agency, works for the consumer to prevent fraudulent, deceptive, and unfair business practices in the marketplace and to provide information to help consumers spot, stop, and avoid them.

Anti-Phishing Working Group (APWG)

http://www.antiphishing.org/

APWG, an industry association of hundreds of companies, banks and international law enforcement agencies, is concerned about eliminating identity theft and fraud resulting from the growing problem of “phishing” and e-mail “spoofing” -- deceptive e-mail designed to steal the recipient's identity by posing as correspondence from a legitimate business. APWG is a repository of news and recent examples of phishing scams. Sponsors include Microsoft and Symantec.

Federal Trade Commission (FTC): Your National Resource for Identity Theft

http://www.consumer.gov/idtheft/

The FTC is the federal clearinghouse for identity theft complaints. Although the FTC does not have the authority to bring criminal cases, the commission provides victims of identity theft with information to help resolve the problems that can result from this crime. The FTC also is educating consumers on how to safeguard their information and providing an online complaint form for victims of identity theft.

National Association of Attorneys General

http://www.naag.org/issues/issue-cybercrime.php

As the states’ top law enforcers, attorneys general are examining an increasing number of crimes occurring over the Internet, particularly how perpetrators are becoming more adept at using the Internet and computers to commit fraud, identity theft, stalking and other crimes against children. The Cybercrime Project educates and provides attorneys general with training to successfully investigate and prosecute computer crimes.
