BBB Wise Giving Alliance

The BBB Wise Giving Alliance offers guidance to donors on making informed giving decisions by issuing reports on national charities, including an evaluation applying voluntary BBB charity standards. The Alliance publishes various "tips" publications and the quarterly Better Business Bureau Wise Giving Guide, and offers an online form for consumers to file complaints

Charity Navigator

Chronicle of Philanthropy

GuideStar

Founded in 1994, GuideStar is a national database providing information about the operations and finances of more than one million non-profit organizations. The site is a portal connecting non-profit organizations, donors, foundations and businesses.

Independent Sector

The Independent Sector is a coalition of more than 700 non-profit organizations, foundations and corporate giving programs nationwide. As such, the Independent Sector explores issues affecting the non-profit community, including ways in which philanthropy and the Internet intersect. The group's Philanthropy and the Internet Fact Sheet details Americans' giving habits online as well as charities' fundraising efforts using the Internet.
